Q: What is the preferred method to report a suggestion or a problem?

A: The best way to report a problem, suggestion or request is to submit a problem report using LuxRiot Problem Report Wizard installed along with LuxRiot. The wizard gathers runtime log files and other relevant information that may appear to be helpful, compresses it and attaches to the report.

Q: What can I do if my problem report or email request is never replied to?

A: Problem reports and e-mails normally reach the technical support team and are responded in a timely fashion. When submitting the report make sure to provide your own e-mail address for reply since this is the most frequent reason for never getting a reply.

Additionally, make sure that spam filter is not killing/blocking the replies. Once a problem report is submitted, a notification e-mail is sent to confirm your submission. If you never received such an email, please check your mailbox’s spam folder to make sure the e-mail responses are not marked as spam.

 The LuxRiot receives an event message whenever a key is pressed or released.

Summary

This post described how to customize dry contacts and events.

1. Enable Digital inputs on the camera

To activate the dry contacts (digital or dry inputs) on the camera you need run Camera Setup Wizard, open the camera settings and select the tab Events. Next, you need to include the generation of events (Enable event generation), also select the State in which the alert generated by the event - this can be done by clicking the mouse on the link in the column State. After changing the settings you have to continue the Camera Setup Wizard to finish.

Available state:

Active - by changing the status of the contact, it is recorded in the archive;

Alert if Change - Same as Active, but by changing the state of contact is generated alert;

Alert if Open - the same as Active, but when closing the contact generated alert;

Alert if Close - same as Active, but the closure of the contact is generated alert.

2. Recording
For the recording of events, select the corresponding checkbox on the page, Data recording, in the Camera Setup Wizard.

You can also set up to activate record video after an alarm event. To do this, go to additional settings for recording (Advanced properties page Data recording),select bookmark Motion and Events, and include an entry on warnings - Enable alert event controlled recording.

3. Archive

At the Time Line bar, events are displayed in the lower part, and are marked with yellow or red (alarm events) Labeled.

To search for events, choose Navigation -> Events in the main menu player archive. In the window to specify search criteria and click Search. Double click on the event of interest to establish the position of the archive at the time of the event.

This post describes how to use LuxRiot DVR Watermark Validator to check exported video archive or frame was not changed or edited. The application is capable to verify the authenticity of the file exported file and whole video archive.

Description

The application can be started from Start menu: Start -> Programs -> LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder -> Tools -> DVR Server Watermark Validator

To check the watermark it is necessary to drag and drop one or more file onto application window.

After having these things set off twice near our house, I’d had enough. I was determined to put together a decent video surveillance system and catch these hooligans.

Summary

This post describes how to use a helper application “Camera Status Report” to connect and to monitor one or more remote LuxRiot DVR servers. The application is capable of showing up to date status of operation and recording on a per camera basis. 

Description

The application can be started from Start menu: Start -> Programs -> LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder -> Tools -> DVR Server Camera Status Report

Or selected from LuxRiot DVR Client user interface. To select Cameras Status Report use top bar menu: Tools -> Utilities -> Camera Status Report

Cameras Status Report helps us collect information about cameras which are working on server/s.

First we need to add server by pressing button «Add» and then fill in all fields:

When the server is added to the list you can then check the cameras status by pressing: Check -> Start

The Scan Settings window allows you to select settings in which you require report.

Pressing «Start» will show you all information about cameras on servers:

It is also possible to load remote server information connection from LuxRiot DVR Client data file (.LXD). In order to take advantage of saved connections one needs to access the file using menu: File -> Open File

This post described how to configure multiple channels for the SANYO cameras.

Description

LuxRiot DVR can receive multiple streams with different settings from the SANYO VCC-HD2500/2500P, VDC-HD3500/3500P, VCC-HD4600/4600P, VCC-HD5400/5400P network (IP) cameras. This could be useful to decrease client CPU usage and client to server network load without degradation of the recording quality.

First of all you need to create one stream. Please follow the Camera Setup Wizard, create and configure new device as usual. Then open Camera Setup Wizard again, select created device and click next.
Please note that the camera hardware has performance limitations and can support only specific streams of data.
Before configuring multiple streams in LuxRiot software please make sure the camera supports chosen streams.
Configure streams via camera web browser and if it is allowed then you can configure same streams in LuxRiot software.
Please note that after camera is connected to LuxRiot software all stream configurations will be erased from the camera and you will then need set required streams in LuxRiot software.

Then open camera properties.

In appeared property pages select Video Input tab and press Create button.

In appeared window enter new channel title and select video source. Please note that the default video source equals to first stream. Then click Ok and close property pages. New channel will be created.

Now you can configure properties for the each channel as usual for single camera.
