Q: What is the most recent LuxRiot available?

A: LuxRiot releases are posted under Release category, the most recent is listed from top entry

Q: What is the preferred method to report a suggestion or a problem?

A: The best way to report a problem, suggestion or request is to submit a problem report using LuxRiot Problem Report Wizard installed along with LuxRiot. The wizard gathers runtime log files and other relevant information that may appear to be helpful, compresses it and attaches to the report.

The links below provide detail information on submitting a problem report:

HOWTO: Submit a problem report

HOWTO: Submit a problem report from machine not connected to Internet

Q: What can I do if my problem report or email request is never replied to?

A: Problem reports and e-mails normally reach the technical support team and are responded in a timely fashion. When submitting the report make sure to provide your own e-mail address for reply since this is the most frequent reason for never getting a reply.

Additionally, make sure that spam filter is not killing/blocking the replies. Once a problem report is submitted, a notification e-mail is sent to confirm your submission. If you never received such an email, please check your mailbox’s spam folder to make sure the e-mail responses are not marked as spam.

Summary

This post described how to configure multiple channels for the SANYO cameras.

Description

<a href="http://luxriot.com"title="LuxRiot" target="_blank" >LuxRiot DVR can receive multiple streams with different settings from the SANYO VCC-HD2500/2500P, VDC-HD3500/3500P, VCC-HD4600/4600P, VCC-HD5400/5400P network (IP) cameras. This could be useful to decrease client CPU usage and client to server network load without degradation of the recording quality.

First of all you need to create one stream. Please follow the Camera Setup Wizard, create and configure new device as usual. Then open Camera Setup Wizard again, select created device and click next.
Please note that the camera hardware has performance limitations and can support only specific streams of data.
Before configuring multiple streams in LuxRiot software please make sure the camera supports chosen streams.
Configure streams via camera web browser and if it is allowed then you can configure same streams in LuxRiot software.
Please note that after camera is connected to LuxRiot software all stream configurations will be erased from the camera and you will then need set required streams in LuxRiot software.

Then open camera properties.

In appeared property pages select Video Input tab and press Create button.

In appeared window enter new channel title and select video source. Please note that the default video source equals to first stream. Then click Ok and close property pages. New channel will be created.

Now you can configure properties for the each channel as usual for single camera.

The information applies to:

LuxRiot 1.7.1

Symptoms

When screen layout is changed, and also possibly caused by other events, one or more live video streams might get frozen without further image updates. In the same time, a video footer is updated with new frame times, motion detection status and other supplementary information.

A minimization of the client application window (which internally pauses broadcasts, unless reconfigued by user) is typically resolving the freeze. The freeze also does not happen if user chooses GDI based video renderer under menu Tools, Options.

The problem is specific to particular hardware and/or Windows updates (detailed source of the problem is being investigated, the problem is believed to be specific to ATI video hardware and specific driver version).

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules works the problem around.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to latest LuxRiot 1.7.1 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

Download the archive DVRClientTools-1.7.2.22618.zip

Stop all LuxRiot applications

Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically “C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder”

Backup file DVRClientTools.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRClientTools.01.dll

Extract new file DVRClientTools.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file

Start LuxRiot applications

The fix will also be included into next release of LuxRiot.

Note that the solution is only applicable to LuxRiot version 1.7.1, and is not compatible with earlier releases.

Project outline and objectives
There was an increase in crime when the economy started going down. I live in a gated loft complex but we already had some instances with burglars. I travel overseas for long terms with my job and wanted to be able to watch my property when I’m traveling or just in the office by remote connection.
Hardware used
Gateway desktop; Windows XP Ultimate 32 bit, Intel core 2 Duo 2.26, 4Gb RAM, three 1.5Tb SATA HDD. Three Axis 211 cameras.

LuxRiot software
The LuxRiot Software edition used for this particular site is the LuxRiot Basic Edition.

Camera codec Used
MJPEG Codec was employed in this particular setup for all connected cameras.

Customer comments
I work in the surveillance industry for Siemens as a sales engineer for EMEA. While I have not experienced Luxriot in the field, for my home use I have found it extremely easy to configure and use and it is the most cost effective product that’s loaded with great features and probably the most camera support I’ve seen.

The customer is quite satisfied that they will save financially in the long term.
They can now monitor the livestock property by remote connection which is very useful for them in many ways and especially during the colder months of the year and it now means they do not have to worry that the security guards might have failed to do regular perimeter checks due to it being too cold or wet.
