BUG: LuxRiot DVR Client would not open shortcut with saved configuration

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot up to 1.6.2

Symptoms

When Luxriot DVR Client saved configuration file (.lxd) is opened (for instance, double clicked from desktop or shell explorer), the application starts with clean configuration and offers adding new server by popping up Add Server Wizard.

Description

The configuration file is safe and not damaged but the application is unable to open it as a shortcut (specified in the command line).

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

  1. Download the archive DVRClient-1.6.2.764.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup file DVRClient.exe by renaming to e.g. DVRClient.01.exe
  5. Extract new DVRClient.exe from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

FIX: An attempt to obtain server archive statistics through remote connection causes disconnection from server

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot up to 1.6.1

Symptoms

An attempt to obtain archive statistics on remote server causes unpredictable behavior on LuxRiot DVR Server, most often remote connection disconnection or freeze or other symptoms of getting into unstable state.

Resolution

An update of LuxRiot modules fixes the problem. Note that both server and client computers needs to be updated.

Additionally the process of gathering statistics is significantly optimized for speed.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.6.1 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archives DVRCommunication-1.6.1.2196.zip and DVRServerTools-1.6.1.544.zip
    Stop all LuxRiot applications
  2. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  3. Backup files DVRCommunication.dll and DVRServerTools.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRServerTools.01.dll
  4. Extract new DVRCommunication.dll and DVRServerTools.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed files
  5. Start LuxRiot applications

The fix will also be included into next release of LuxRiot.

FIX: Remote connection to LuxRiot DVR Server may appear to be unreasonably slow

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot 1.2.20 up to 1.2.24

Symptoms

Remote connections may appear to be unreasonably slow and do not utilize available network connection bandwidth. This may result in low frame rates while delivering video from remote server.

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.22 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRCommunication-1.2.25.2177.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup file DVRCommunication.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRCommunication.01.dll
  5. Extract new DVRCommunication.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

FIX: It may be unable to paste video frame put into clipboard

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot 1.2.x up to 1.2.17

Symptoms

After a video frame was copied into clipboard, some applications (especially the ones that support multiple clipboard formats, e.g. Microsoft Word) may be unable to paste copied image.

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.17 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRClientTools-1.2.17.2686.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup file DVRClientTools.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRClientTools.01.dll
  5. Extract new DVRClientTools.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

FIX: Flipped or rotated image from camera may get distorted

Symptoms

When image flip or rotation option is enabled to post-process image received from typically network camera, the resulting image may get distorted, especially having a split shifting image by several pixels.

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.14 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRCodecs-1.2.14.2629.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open Windows system32 directory, typically C:\Windows\system32
  4. Backup file DVRCodecs.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRCodecs.01.dll
  5. Extract new DVRCodecs.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

The fix will also be included into next release of LuxRiot.

FIX: Unexpected persistent motion regions

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot 1.2.x up to 1.2.14

Symptoms

With motion detection enabled for a camera, it may sometimes appear that some of the regions (especially along right and bottom margins) are persistently and falsely shown as having motion detected. The problem may go or re-appear with restart of the LuxRiot DVR Server application or service. In rare cases the problem may cause crash of server side of the software.
Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.14 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRServerTools-1.2.14.6623.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder

FIX: Motion detection exclusion area mask corruption

The information applies to:

Symptoms

Defined exclusion area for motion detection may get corrupted after LuxRiot DVR Server restart and will not be taken properly into consideration.

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.
It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.11 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRServerTools-1.2.11.6552.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup file DVRServerTools.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRServerTools.01.dll
  5. Extract new DVRServerTools.dll from downloaded archive in place of the renamed file
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

The fix will also be included into next release of LuxRiot.

Note that currently defined exclusion area will be lost and has to be re-defined for each camera.

FIX: ComArt HiCap/XeCap board cameras may lose permission settings

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot 1.2.x up to 1.2.11

Symptoms

A change in permission settings for ComArt HiCap/XeCap cameras might appear to be not saved into persistent configuration database and after restart of LuxRiot DVR Server the settings get reverted to their original state.

Resolution

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.11 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archives DVRServerXeCap-1.5.22.22.zip and DVRServerHiCap-1.2.12.15.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup files DVRServerXeCap.dll and DVRServerHiCap.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRServerXeCap.01.dll and DVRServerHiCap.01.dll respectively
  5. Extract new DVRServerXeCap.dll and DVRServerHiCap.dll from downloaded archives in place of the renamed files
  6. Start LuxRiot applications

The fix will also be included into next release of LuxRiot.

Without the update, to workaround the problem after changing permission settings administrator may reconfigure any camera using camera setup wizard and LuxRiot DVR Server will flush latest configuration into persistent database including permission settings changes.

FIX: Incorrect recording when using post-motion recording feature

Symptoms

Despite confgiration of post-motion recording feature, LuxRiot DVR Server may unexpectedly record all video frames regardless of motion state.

An update of one of the LuxRiot modules fixes the problem.

It is strongly recommended to upgrade to LuxRiot 1.2.8 before applying the fix if an older version of LuxRiot is installed.

  1. Download the archive DVRServerTools-1.2.8.6485.zip
  2. Stop all LuxRiot applications
  3. Open LuxRiot instllation directory, typically C:\Program Files\LuxRiot Digital Video Recorder
  4. Backup file DVRServerTools.dll by renaming to e.g. DVRServerTools.01.dll

FIX: Camera setup wizard may unexpectedly fail with “Exception occurred” message

Symptoms

Under some circumstances any setup of a new or existing camera may unexpectedly end with “Exception occurred” failure message.
