HowTo: Change number of scanners running concurrently for detecting network cameras

Filed under: How To, Network Cameras — alex @ 3:34 pm

Number of scanners (threads) running concurrently for detecting network cameras (Find Network Cameras wizard) can be changed by editing the registry. If your network is overloaded then it is recommended to decrease the default number of scanners in order not to miss some cameras. Increasing this number will increase the speed of the network detector, but decrease the probability of camera to be found.

Key Name: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\A&H\LuxRiot\Server\
Value Name: Network Cameras Scanner Threads
Value Type: DWORD
Value: number of scanners to be used (default 12, maximum 32)
