Problems using LuxRiot with dual monitor systems

Since it is asked over and over again, an update on the dual monitor issue:

From the client:

Running the Luxriot Client on a Dell PC with dual monitors. The desktop is extended across both monitors. When you drag the client application from monitor 1 to monitor 2 the camera images (16) disapear and every screen displays “Unspecified error”. The error flickers between a screen with an image of a camera and the error message at the bottom, and a black screen with diagonal white stripes and the error message in the middle.

This is a known issue caused by inability of DirectX subsystem to use secondary monitor properly. The workaround options are:

  1. Make sure you are using latest drivers for video board
  2. Install most recent DirectX runtime from Microsoft website
  3. If the problem is not gone after the above steps, switch LuxRiot to GDI mode as described here.
