There are several reasons why remove client could fail to connect to LuxRiot server software.
First of all, make sure your LuxRiot edition is capable of remote connections. Note that shareware/evaluation version of LuxRiot server does not accept remote connections. For information about available editions, see LuxRiot website.
Second, make sure LuxRiot server is set up to accept remote connections.

Make sure TCP server staus is “Active” and note port number used. In most cases the default value of 60554 is used. This means that if you have a firewall or router set up, you need to make sure this port is open for available connections. In case you are planning to use web client, a port for HTTP server should also be set up to be accessible. Default HTTP port is 80 and it is also configurable.
After that make sure the user name used to log in remotely is allowed to make remote connections.

Make sure users have “Connect Remotely” permission granted.
Check user name and password to be correct and note that most editions have a limit on a number of concurrent connections.

One of the customers wrote that he is using Netopia 3347NWG ADSL Gateway provided by Bell South for his DSL service and this hardware can forward data on ports up to 49152. LuxRiot’s default port is 60554 and in order to allow connectivity between LuxRiot DVR Server and Client through ADSL gateway it was required to change LuxRiot’s TCP port to a lower value than 49152.
