INFO: Enhanced Digital PTZ feature

Filed under: Change Log — roman @ 12:43 pm

The information applies to:

  • LuxRiot 1.2.16 and more recent, LuxRiot Light 1.2.16 and more recent

Summary

LuxRiot DVR Client received an enhanced digital PTZ feature with better control using mouse pointer.

Digital PTZ feature allows to manipulate with zoomed video streams, post-processed on the client side of the application.

Description

With digital PTZ feature enabled it is possible to zoom in and out video received from camera. Digital PTZ feature may affect client application performance and thus is disabled and requires explicit activation. The feature is enabled through main menu or video’s context menu:

Once enabled, the image responds to standard PTZ controls from PTZ pane as well as mouse pointer manipulation.

There are four manipulation tools available:

  • Default tool (mouse pointer actions are similar to those with digital PTZ feature disabled)
  • Drag tool, activated with enabling digital PTZ mode (zoomed in video may be dragged to move area of interest into view)
  • Zoom In tool (mouse click zooms video in, rubber band selection zooms video to fit selected rectangle)
  • Zoom Out tool (mouse click zooms video out)

When using Drag, Zoom In and Zoom Out tools it is also possible to hold Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys to temporarily switch to a different tool.

Zoom Out to Full Frame command zooms video out so that 100% of the video (full frame) is visible in the view.

When digital PTZ feature is enabled, its operation is indicated by an icon under video as shown below. A tool tip of the icon also displays current zoom factor.
