HOWTO: Using network cameras not listed as supported by LuxRiot

Filed under: How To, Network Cameras, Support — AlexB @ 3:33 am

1) At the beginning try to use network cameras search wizard, since there are a lot of cameras of unnamed manufactures selling under known brands (OEM).
To do that, right click on server name and then choose “Tasks-> Find Network Cameras…”.
In opened window mark «intelligent camera search» checkbox, then click next.

3) If any of mentioned above methods not working than make this network camera available online and send us a web URL. Our engineers will try to implement support for your camera.

  1. Will there be support for the D-link DCS-5300?

  2. D-Link DCS-5300 is a MPEG4 camera. At the moment we do not support MPEG4 compression. MPEG4 is planned to be supported by the end of 2006. Anyway I think that it is possible to show video from this camera in LuxRiot using our “JPEG Compatible” feature. Please read more at http://blog.luxriot.com/111
